Mrs. (Almost) Covington, You are Special Today

The weekend after we returned from el Honeymoon, I headed up to Dallas for my dear friend Melissa's bridal shower which was on July 23rd.  Melissa's amazing Aunt Sue threw the shower and did an outstanding job.  She hosted it at Melissa's Dad's house in Dallas- which is quite the feat considering Aunt Sue lives in Pennsylvania.  Did I mention she was amazing?

We all spent a wonderful afternoon dining on delicious catering, guessing what age Melissa was in various photographs (both pre and post Chi), sipping champagne punch, learning that BBQ was behind Melissa & Blake's first kiss and watching Melissa open presents.  She got such sweet, thoughtful gifts- including a gorgeous Amish quilt from Aunt Sue and a red dish with "You are Special Today" emblazoned on it which carries on a family tradition from her doll of a future Mother-in-Law.

All in all it was a perfect bridal shower for a perfect bride, and I absolutely can't wait for the wedding.  Love you Mopes!

Why hello there delicious champagne punch.

Iced Tea set up.

Food spread.

Cake- which arrived via VERY air-conditioned chariot.

Aunt Sue had these napkins made with pictures of the day the loverbirds got engaged.  So cute.

Personalized Hersey Kisses... she seriously thought of everything.

Pretty placesettings.  Notice the lack of Solo brand items.  A much classier affair than the Martin household has seen.

I was not good at this game.

Presents!

Pretty Amish quilt.

Melissa's Mom, Aunt Sue, Melissa & Melissa's Dad. I heard this hat was actually worn at the Royal Nuptials in April.

Soon-to-be-Covingtons.  Not pictured: Cinnamon.

Melissa & her wonderful future in laws.

Me & Mopelia- Law & Order SVU's biggest fans.

Me, Allyson, Melissa, Jessie, Lauren, Katie, Stevie, Meredith & Becca- all ladies who look fantastic in 80's gear... stay tuned for the Bachelorette Party post for photographic evidence.
