Where's the D*** Salt?

The first weekend there Ava asked multiple times if we were going to go out to eat.  She's clearly a girl after my own heart as that is this mama's favorite activity as well.  On July 6th, her dreams came true.

Once again feeling brave, we all piled into our cars to head over to Fajita Jack's.  What can I say... apparently the lure of margaritas and TexMex > threat of unruly kids.

They must have seen us coming from a mile away because they sat us at a large table and left a huge open space between us and the railing overlooking the lake.  Some might say they were tempting us to fall in, but I prefer to think that they knew we would use it as our personal dance floor.  Because that is exactly what we did.  On karaoke night, what other option is there really?

We all got a belly and eye full that evening.  I think everyone's favorite performance of the evening was "Margaritaville," by a lovely woman who's cropped top read "Boy Toy."  Homegirl really knew how to work the crowd.  And to improvise her song lyrics.  I personally loved her so much that her rendition inspired the title of this post.

It was certainly a top 5 restaurant night in this girl's book!

Grandpa, Mamacita & Aunt Jan belly up to the bar.  (Julie is making that face about 98% of the time Ryan's talking to her.)

The Ladies of Dodd waiting for our table.

Parenting: nailed it.

If Emery refuses to sit in her car seat, I'm glad Ava could at least use it for Alissa.

Catching wizards is serious business, people.

Kyle demonstrating how Lucys are made.

Matt & John are too cool for school.  That is not a gig 'em.  Let's all just calm down.

Aunt Jean & Grandpa looking all adorable and color-coordinated.

Kara & Ava looking beautiful as always.

Paul might be smiling for a pic but Tripp is still on the look out for "wizards" (lizards).

Aunt Jan & Uncle Tom... 36 years of drambuie, cowboy hats and love.  Not necessarily in that order.

Jules & David pre-pepper.

The best Nonnie & Grandpa in the world.  (Okay- tied with my own).

Hubster & I.

Remember when I said she had the dramatic pout face down?  Here it is.  This picture makes me laugh every time.

Grandpa & Julie getting their dance on.  Obviously their talents were drawing a crowd.

How cute are they?

I believe this might be the first sign that Aunt Jean was being over-served.

Ring around the Rosey-ing it up.

Em's first dance with her Grandpa.  :c)

We had such an incredible week with the family and I'm so grateful that they could make it down.  We miss you guys all terribly and are already looking forward to the next time!  Love each and every one of you more than you know.  :c)
